Before Nicki Minaj and Starship was cool.

This is Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul, South Korea. 50 yrs. ago, it was a dirty creek w/ informal settlers living along the banks, (sounds familiar?) a symbol of urban blight that had to be covered w/ concrete & an expressway built over it. Now it has been developed into a 8-km long waterway park that is a destination for locals & tourists alike & lauded as a success story for urban renewal. Why can’t Metro Manila do the same for its esteros & rivers?
